Review of City of Glass by Cassandra Clare

To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters - never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City - whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the third instalment of the New York Times bestselling series The Mortal Instruments.

City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3)

** spoiler alert ** An amazing end to the trilogy. I love the adventures of Jace and Clary. The entire series is one shocking moment after another. This made me laugh and cry. The death of Max really shocks me. He's 9 years old, and it seems terribly unfair. Now i have read this book before, but due to the release of the next in the series I thought I would re-read. This meant i knew max was going to die, but it didnt make it any easier.

I love the fact that Jace and Clary got together. It's meant to be. From the very first novel, these too were destined and i love that about this story. Jace is my favourite charater in this series. He arragont and in some part cruel, but when he's near Clary, his world almost caves in on him. He's not any nicer, he's still the Jace he was, but complete.

An amazing finale to the series. Clare's world has so much content and information. You can tell a lot of research went into this series. One of my Favourite books ever!!!!
